On October 3rd 1996 after almost 3 years of negotiations Parrot Key opened it's doors as a forum on AOL. With a community of Jimmy Buffett fans estimated to be 3000 strong we drank margaritas, stayed up late typing away in our chat room and posting to the message boards. Although we did have a web site too it didn't really start to get heavy traffic until we got smart and moved PK to the Internet full time a few years later.

It's been 12 years now and Parrot Key is still going strong. While a lot of the "old timer" AOLer's have moved on to other things there is a whole new group of people who call PK home and I couldn't be happier. Parrot Key is all about meeting new like minded friends to hang out with and have a good time.
